Child
Therapy

As parents, we won’t always have the answers or know what to do.

Emily has been more tired and cranky lately. She isn’t sleeping well, and she cries whenever something doesn’t go as expected.

Jack is having outbursts more often than ever. Always a bit intense, he has started throwing full blown tantrums every day after school.

Mason has not seemed the same since his grandmother died some months ago. His mom knew it would be a big adjustment, but he doesn’t seem to be adjusting.

Their parents are concerned and want to help.

But they’ve tried every way they can, and it just hasn’t worked.

What do you do when you’ve done all you can on your own?

I can help.

I focus on understanding the emotions, patterns, and biology behind a child’s behavior. Using play, art, and relationship, we build resources, so a child can work on the problem.

I use EMDR to help children through difficult experiences and experiential therapy to help them express their needs and see things in new ways.

Then, we build some skills for coping with new situations as they come up.

Parents are often involved in each of these steps.

They know what their child needs and how to support them. Together, parents and children learn how to manage feelings and behavior.

Emily has started smiling again.

Jack eats his snack and plays with his toys calmly.

Mason says he misses Grandma, but he seems to be moving on with life.

It’s time for a new start for your child. Call me so we can talk about what needs to change and how to make it happen. (512) 831-7909
